Magazine and Photo Prompt Review

(Photo Prompt)

1.  I liked the "Footprint" photo the best, because out of all of the others it seemed to be in more detail and more interesting. The other three seemed to be something someone else could've done, or did, or they weren't as in focus as this one.

2. My least favorite is the "The End" one, it doesn't seem in focus and I [personally] need to squint to get a better look at it. The light at the top of the trees seem to be too bright and the bars aren't in focus so the rest of the photo seems to not be as well.

3. The pictures overall aren't what everyone would've done so they're unique in their own way and interesting. They're also good for fitting with the cropping.

4. I think that you could work on getting a better focus on the object you're taking a picture of, its something that bothers me a lot, but once again thats just me most likely. If something in front of the picture isn't in focus then the rest of it seems to not be as well, even if it is in focus. Well, that depends on if you need/want the thing in front of it to be blurry-just be careful.

5. I think that the best picture you portrayed was the "The End" one. It made a bit more sense than the others, footprints didn't need to be an actual footprint and same with the "Yummy" one.

6. The photo that was least portrayed, in my opinion, was the "Connected" photo. Yes, it does kind of make sense to take a picture of other countries' flags, but it doesn't really show how we're connected to them, I think.

(Magazine Cover)

1. I looked at the Holidaze magazine by Maria.

2.  I like how some of the words cover the model, but whoever is looking at it can still clearly see her and can read the captions without much of a problem.

3. There should be a date of when the magazine was made and how much it costs. Looking at the cover up close there doesn't seem to be one. People should know how much to pay for it. And it might've been a little bit more helpful if the photo wasn't so dark, it makes the model hard to see because her glasses and hair seem to merge into the background.

4.  I would've picked the other cover, but the colors on this one and the white brought me in. The way the captions are positioned, so to say, made it stand out more.

5. Yes, the bar code looks fine to me.

6. I personally would pick up the magazine if I walked by it in a store. The colors make it stand out a bit more than others, only problem is is that I don't really read magazines.

7. I can't really tell if this was a self-portrait or not, but I'm assuming it wasn't.

Welcome Back: Best Pictures of 2015

Top 3 Pictures of 2015

This picture of the iceberg is very appealing to my eyes, I'm not sure why but it just seems to calm me down and lets me relax. Seeing the iceberg from both above and under water at the same time is really cool, the top looks like its all hardened and just another piece of ice and the bottom half of it thats underwater just seems like another world,

Having some experiences in Colorado and being in the mountains I've taken a slight interest in volcanos and mountain ranges, but a volcano releasing smoke against clouds in a sunrise/set and mixing together is way better than studying. With the cloud and smoking merging together against a dark city and a slightly dark blue sky looks like a painting.

Lightening has always caught my interest, but when paired with something else that lights up it becomes a whole different matter. The darkness of the clouds brings the light up area inside the clouds and the firework together very nicely and the light can almost spread across evenly. Even though the city looks busy, the firework and lightening take almost all of the attention and draw my eyes to them. I love it when pictures of lightening aren't alone, whether its a city getting hit to something unclose like a tree getting struck. Lightening alone just gets boring quickly.

Runner-Ups

Part 2

1. There aren't really a lot of songs on the top 40 songs list that I listen to and like, I'm that kind of girl who chooses electronica over pop. So, I think that How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris and Disciples is my top song of 2015. I would have chosen Where Are You Now by Skrillex, Diplo, and Justin Bieber if Justin wasn't a part of it. I can be super bias when it comes to artists and I really don't like Justin Bieber at all. But How Deep Is Your Love has the kind of melodica dubstep in it that I enjoy and it doesn't take away from the electronics/bass.

2. I don't really watch movies all the time, but from what a lot of other people have said after seeing this movie and the reviews being pretty good, I think the top movie of 2015 was Star Wars: Episode Vll - The Force Awakens (2015). Sure, I'm not really a Star Wars fan-granted I like the movies-this movie seems like the almost perfect one for the whole family to enjoy even if someone doesn't really like Star Wars that much. A lot of people I know that have seen it will happily go see it again and again, it doesn't matter if they already know whats going to happen, the movie is still enjoyable to go see.

3. Gay marriage is now legal in the whole Untied States, couples that have been wanting to get married in the state that they met in and weren't allowed to legally be married can now have one of their wishes come true. This whole ordeal has been going on for awhile and was taken into the supreme court being ruled. So many people protested, put up with verbal harassment, stood up for what they believe in and it all payed off. So the top story of 2015 is/was the Same-Sex Marriage Debate.

4. I would say the most important person of 2015 was Donald Trump. So many people talked about him and made a big deal of what he has/had been saying about when he is president. There are a lot of meme's about him too, plus people do look up to him. Trump has just been everywhere, in peoples thoughts, on television, on the web, etc.

5. I personally don't really pay attention to sports or the biggest stories because they don't interest me that much, but I think that the biggest entertainment story/person would be Kanye West declaring that he will run for president in 2020, a quote he said then now spread across the United States, "...I have decided in 2020 to run for president." People have already been talking about what is Trump became president and are now talking about Kanye.

1. Nothing really happened over winter break, I stayed home with my family, my sister came home, my brother brought his boyfriend over for the first time, and my mom told us that we are going to get a puppy lab sometime in March.

2. My resolutions for 2016 are to focus on my school work, get better at calligraphy, change the area up stairs by moving some furniture around, and to be with my family more.

3. I'm looking forward to getting our puppy and I'm also looking forward to deciding what I want to do for my career.
